From the city of Ouarzazate in southeastern Morocco, Tarwa N-Tiniri (which means “Sons of the Desert” in Tamazight) is a dynamic musical group that blends traditional Amazigh (often referred to as Berbers, are an indigenous ethnic group of North Africa ) melodies with elements of desert blues, reggae, jazz, gnaoua (Moroccan music genre) and rock.
Formed in 2012 by a group of childhood friends, the band has become known for its energetic concerts.
Tarwa N-Tiniri has earned international recognition, performing at major festivals across Europe and Africa, including WOMEX, Atlas Festival, and Visa for Music in Rabat. Their recent collaboration with Dutch pianist and composer Thijs Borsten resulted in a joint album, documentary, and a sold-out tour in the Netherlands, further expanding their global reach.
Rooted in their homeland yet open to the world. Enjoy a unique musical immersion this September 23rd!
