Celebrate Reading with Banned Book Week at Western New Mexico University

The challenging or outright banning of books in schools and libraries is an annual occurrence, raising significant concerns over intellectual freedom and access to diverse viewpoints. Despite the controversies, these stories often hold invaluable lessons, reflect essential histories, and offer crucial windows into different perspectives.

At Western New Mexico University (WNMU), we firmly believe in the fundamental importance of preserving these narratives. Recognizing that keeping these stories alive is a vital part of a comprehensive education and an open, informed society, we invite you to join us for our annual Banned Book Week celebration.

Join the WNMU community for events that celebrate the freedom to read and the books that spark conversation and change!
